Job Title: Procurement Buyer

W2 Contract role only
Project Overview
This role will support the Strategic Supply Management and will be responsible for performing procurement duties/functions to assist the Renewables Category as well as software as a service and software license agreements. Areas of support also could include Legal and Cyber Security.
job Functions & Responsibilities
Primary focus is to review upcoming Software Maintenance expirations, determine business needs, propose renewal terms and execute new Agreements/Purchase Orders.
- Ensure all contract documents are in compliance with Clients Canal Corporation and New York State guidelines.
- Process Change orders as necessary.
- Prepare Purchase orders as requested.
- Post documents to NY State Contract Reporter as required.
- Attend project meetings, including onsite meetings, as necessary.
- Maintain diligent and thorough recordkeeping
- Additional work may include: o Preparing RFP S for NYPA, including bid documents, price inquiries and addendums. o Identify potential vendors, as necessary, including available MWBE, MBE and SDVOB vendors for solicitation. o Develop required contract documents based on RFP results.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge and experience working in SAP and Ariba.
- Microsoft Office/Outlook skills.
- Ability to successfully prioritize work on multiple tasks.
- Good organizational skills with an attention to detail.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Ability to extract, comprehend and analyze data while determining the necessary course of action in an independent, professional and timely manner.
- Exceptional customer service and strong interpersonal skills are required.
- Ability to work in a government /utilities, highly regulated environment.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of New York State procurement process is preferred.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor s Degree in Business Management or related field or a minimum of 2 years of military experience in logistics.
- Minimum 1 year of Procurement or related experience with focus on IT software licensing and maintenance contracts.
