Purpose:
This high-visibility role partners with the audit team and business personnel to understand key IT processes, risks, and controls across the enterprise. The individual will leverage knowledge of IT and cybersecurity frameworks to evaluate complex technical issues, advise on IT projects, and assess risk through audit and consulting engagements.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Support execution of the IT internal audit plan by preparing walkthroughs, designing test programs, and conducting control testing, substantive procedures, and consulting reviews.
  • Evaluate network fundamentals including architecture, protocols, and security controls (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS) to assess vulnerabilities and configurations.
  • Apply knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), cloud security principles, shared responsibility models, and control frameworks to audit cloud environments.
  • Review operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) configurations, patch management, and access controls.
  • Utilize understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO), threat landscapes, and best practices to protect IT assets.
  • Assess identity and access management (IAM) processes including user provisioning, authentication, and role-based access controls.
  • Analyze application and database controls focusing on architecture, data flows, and transactional/data integrity.
  • Apply change and configuration management knowledge to ensure effective control over IT environments.
  • Use automation and data analytics tools (IDEA, PowerBI), scripting, and techniques to enhance audit testing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with business units to identify risks and process improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare audit reports with practical and sustainable findings and communicate results clearly to all organizational levels.
  • Follow up on audit observations and management actions to ensure resolution.
  • Meet deadlines while adhering to department and professional standards.

  • Exhibit proactivity, innovation, and intellectual curiosity to partner collaboratively.
  • Maintain solid understanding of data analysis and internal control concepts.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT concepts, cybersecurity, fraud management, and control frameworks.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience preferred.
  • Certifications such as CISA, CIA, CISSP are preferred.
  • Strong understanding of NIST, ISO, ITIL, COBIT, COSO, and related standards.
  • Ability to travel, typically not exceeding 10%.

Supervisory: No

Our Senior IT Auditors earn between $106,100 - $178,200 annually. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
