SAIC is looking for an organized and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer in Middletown, RI. This candidate must have strong attention to detail to join our innovative team. Job Duties:
- Primary focus will be supporting of the technical data package including creating, reviewing and updating drawings and leading the control configuration management of the system.
- Recommending, reviewing, processing engineering change requests.
- Design mechanical systems for underwater applications, custom data acquisition systems, and automated test hardware for land-based testing of naval systems.
- Candidates must demonstrate a history of excelling at multiple concurrent challenges and an eagerness and aptitude for learning new things.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more related experience.
- Five (5) years of engineering design, modeling, and drawing development in SolidWorks.
- Experience creating technical data package quality drawings using GD&T.
- Experience leading the configuration management of a technical design package.
Clearance:
Desired Skills:
- Experience using configuration management software and methodologies.
- Ability to interact directly with customers to extract requirements, generate a plan and report status.
- Experience working on Navy programs, such as torpedoes or other unmanned undersea vehicle systems, such as the AN/SLQ-25 Nixie.
- Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently with changing deadlines and priorities.
- Must be able to work in a team environment while completing tasks in an unsupervised and self-directed fashion.
