Senior Software Automation Testing Engineer API testing using JMeter


Client: (Payments Gateway)
Payment or Finance Domain Must
Location: NJ (Need Locals) - Final Round Face to Face
(Hybrid 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Exp - 12+
Duration - 24 Months

Job Summary

Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for payment APIs, payment gateway integrations, and back-office settlement systems.
API testing using JMeter
Validate transaction flows (authorization, capture, settlement, refund, chargeback) across multiple payment channels.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.
Lead performance and security testing for large-scale payment workloads.
Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and developers to translate payment use cases into test scenarios.
Mentor junior SDETs and QA engineers, review test code, and enforce best practices.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to QA strategy for mission-critical payment applications.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
12+ years of software testing experience, with 10+ years in test automation.
Strong domain knowledge in payment gateways / financial transaction systems.
Hands-on expertise with JMeter, Postman, RestAssured, SoapUI for API and performance testing.
Programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
Strong understanding of REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, ISO 8583, and payment messaging formats.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience testing credit card networks, payment gateways, or fintech applications.
Knowledge of PCI-DSS compliance testing and security validation.
SQL/Database testing for transaction reconciliation and ledger validation.

Soft Skills

Strong communication and stakeholder management.
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
Ability to lead QA teams in fast-paced fintech projects.
