Job Details
Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of mission-critical infrastructure within a data center. This role ensures the reliability, efficiency, and safety of systems such as power, cooling, and environmental controls, while leading a team of technicians and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Supervision:
Manage and mentor a team of technicians responsible for critical environment systems.
Develop shift schedules and delegate tasks to ensure 24/7 coverage and operational continuity.
Ensure compliance with training, safety, and operational standards
Operations & Maintenance:
Oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems.
Coordinate and execute routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs.
Ensure minimal disruption during system changes or outages
Client & Vendor Coordination:
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and contractors working within the facility.
Ensure work quality and safety compliance during third-party activities
Infrastructure Planning & Support:
Assist in planning and executing server installations, upgrades, and infrastructure changes.
Support disaster recovery testing and ensure readiness for emergency situations
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
Provide timely updates and reports to management and stakeholders.
Able to complete all tasks listed in the CE Tech Level 1 and Level 2 role description. Chiller method of procedure (MOP) - If the system is down to "N" level of redundancy. Chilled water pump MOP - If the system is down to "N" level of redundancy. Computer-room air handler (CRAH) MOP - If the system is down to "N" level of redundancy. Experience with building management systems (EPMS). Preferred: EPA Refrigerant License. Required: All candidates must hold an OSHA or OSHA-approved NFPA 70E Certification. Required: Experience with electrical systems in a high availability assembly / manufacturing / critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields. Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Required: 5+ year(s) work/applied learning experience in technical fields (e.g. automotive, electrical, controls, data center). Required: Able to work a flexible work schedule which could include 12-hour shifts, rotating shifts, 3, 4, or 5 day work weeks. Required: Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word
Qualifications:
Proven experience in mission-critical environments (e.g., data centers, hospitals, manufacturing).
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with systems such as HVAC, UPS, generators, and BMS.
Ability to lift and carry equipment, climb ladders, and respond to emergencies
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering, IT, or related field preferred.
