Senior CRM Strategy Lead/Higher Education Focus

- 100% Remote with some travel to Northern, CA - Pacific time zone candidates preferred.
- Eight (8) week, 40 hr./week project
- Estimated pay is $100 - $120 hr. W2 (ONLY)

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end CRM strategy development and execution in collaboration with university stakeholders across admissions, financial aid, academic affairs, student services, athletics, alumni relations, and IT.
- Conduct comprehensive current state assessments of CRM-related processes, data flows, and technology usage within a higher education context.
- Develop detailed persona journey maps reflecting the entire student lifecycle from prospect through alumnus, identifying engagement opportunities and process improvement areas.
- Define future state CRM processes aligned with institutional goals, ensuring seamless integration across systems such as LMS, CRM, marketing automation, and service platforms.
- Drive stakeholder engagement and change management initiatives to secure adoption, ownership, and excitement around new CRM strategies and tools.
- Establish measurable success metrics tied to key university outcomes including enrollment targets, financial aid processing efficiency, early intervention in student success, and alumnus engagement.
- Collaborate with technology teams and external partners to align CRM tools and integrations with the strategic vision.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on higher education CRM best practices, trends, and innovations.
- Minimum 8-10 years experience leading CRM programs or transformations in higher education institutions or closely related sectors.
- Deep understanding of higher education student lifecycle processes including recruitment, admissions, financial aid, academic advising, retention, and alumni relations.
- Proven expertise with CRM systems commonly used in higher education (e.g., Salesforce Education Cloud, TargetX, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud).
- Strong experience in persona development, customer journey mapping, and process design tailored to complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of aligning diverse teams and driving change.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver strategy-driven CRM solutions that balance technology, people, and process considerations.
- Strong analytical skills with experience defining KPIs and measuring business outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Education, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Experience leading CRM strategy and transformation in public or multi-campus university systems.
- Familiarity with integration between LMS, CRM, and student information systems.
- Background in change management and user adoption strategies.
- Consulting or vendor management experience.
