Lead Technology Governance Architect

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Lead Technology Governance Architect to join the team in Arlington, VA; Berkeley, MO; or Seattle, WA.

As the Lead Technology Governance Architect, you will spearhead the design and architecture of our Technology Governance function, shaping the foundation for secure and compliant technology operations. This senior role calls for a strategic visionary and technical expert who will architect and document intricate systems and data flows, ensuring full alignment with Boeing's governance frameworks and enterprise standards. You will be a trusted technical thought leader, skilled at transforming complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights that drive informed decisions at the highest levels. Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end design, development, and documentation of the enterprise architecture supporting Boeing's Technology Governance initiatives, including detailed systems and data flow architectures
  • Act as the principal technical thought leader within the Technology Governance domain, influencing strategy and driving architectural excellence
  • Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across Information Technology (IT), security, audit, and business units to ensure governance frameworks and technology solutions are aligned with enterprise objectives
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive architectural artifacts such as system diagrams, data flow models, interface specifications, and governance policies that support decision-making and compliance
  • Leverage deep expertise in IT Service Management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) frameworks to enhance governance processes and ensure operational excellence
  • Present and articulate complex technical architectures and governance concepts in clear, business-oriented language tailored for senior executives and non-technical stakeholders
  • Facilitate architecture review boards, governance committees, and strategic planning sessions to ensure adherence to architectural standards and governance policies
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to continuously evolve the governance architecture and maintain Boeing's competitive edge

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, with a strong focus on technology governance, ITSM, and ITIL frameworks
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and documenting complex systems architectures and data flows within large, regulated enterprises
  • 5+ years of experience translating complex technical information into compelling business narratives for senior leadership and diverse stakeholder groups
  • 5+ years of experience governance frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, and experience with architecture frameworks like TOGAF or Zachman

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Current certifications such as TOGAF, ITIL Expert, CISSP, or CISA
  • 10+ years of experience communicating, presenting, and influencing senior executives and cross-functional teams
