SAP Consultant, MM Purchasing
In this role, you'll ensure the SAP MM procurement process is optimized for high-volume, repetitive, and scheduled material sourcing to maintain supply chain continuity and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate is a techno-functional SAP expert with a deep knowledge of S/4HANA and Ariba, hands-on experience with scheduling agreements, and a solid understanding of manufacturing supply chains.

As an SAP Consultant, MM Purchasing, you'll:
- Configure and support scheduling agreements and purchase orders for JIT and forecast-based deliveries.
- Manage planning and forecast collaboration processes with suppliers.
- Oversee RICEFW developments and enhancements for procurement workflows.
- Maintain master data for purchasing and material management.
- Optimize processes involving Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration (SCC) and SAP S/4HANA integration.
- Analyze and refine business processes, ensuring alignment with manufacturing and logistics needs.
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and end-user support for MM Purchasing functions.
- Create and maintain training materials and documentation for business users.
- Occasionally travel to local sites (approximately once per week, depending on business needs).

Top Skills: SAP S/4HANA and Ariba experience Techno-functional person, need to be able to understand the why behind the actions/business needs Just-in-Time/Scheduling Agreements experience necessary High volume manufacturing industry background is ideal Strong communicator, ability to work cross-functionally, self-motivated In 4 years, someone should know 70-80% of the modules/functions in SAP MM Purchasing It's ok if someone didn't manage the growth from small-scale to high volume - if they have only been in environments with high volume as long as the prerequisite experience is met, that's ok to target as well. Company is growing from R&D based start-up to high volume manufacturing operation. Number of Purchase Orders scaling towards 1,000+ POs per day

Required Skills and Qualifications: Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience as an SAP MM Consultant Expertise in SAP MM Purchasing, covering Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Contracts, and most critically, Scheduling Agreements Proven experience with Scheduling Agreement Release Generation (Forecast and JIT) and the underlying configuration (e.g., Creation Profile) Strong understanding of MM-IM processes: Goods Receipt (MIGO), Stock Transfers, and Physical Inventory Solid knowledge of SAP Logistics Execution (LE) processes related to inbound delivery processing from an SA Familiarity with integration points between MM, FI, and PP (especially MRP and how SAs are reflected in MD04) Familiarity with EDI/IDoc message types used for procurement documents Experience with SAP S/4HANA and Fiori-based procurement applications is a must Experience of CIG and Ariba Supply chain collaboration is a plus Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to resolve complex supply chain issues Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of facilitating workshops and interacting with both business users and technical teams Proven ability to work independently and manage project deliverables on time

Overview: The SAP MM Purchasing Consultant, specializing in Scheduling Agreements, is responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, and support of the P2P (Procure-to-Pay) process with an emphasis on long-term supplier agreements and Just-in-Time (JIT) material delivery. This role ensures that the procurement process within SAP MM is optimized for repetitive and scheduled material sourcing, maintaining supply chain continuity and efficiency.
Work schedule
Monday-Friday standard business hours Onsite in Foster City, CA | 4 days onsite Some travel to Hayward, CA (about once a week or so, depending on business need)
