The Security Specialist is responsible for monitoring, investigating, and responding to day-to-day security alerts, incidents, and issues. This includes alert management, log searches, issue investigation, and effective coordination and collaboration with Business and IT Teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to and investigate day-to-day security alerts generated by the company's automated security tools or reports from end users. Forwards escalations to Security Analysts for further investigation.
  • Assist in the documentation and enhancement of the security issue response process. This includes providing feedback to management to improve our security response.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Security from four-year college or university preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Entry level Security Certification such as Security + preferred
  • Basic knowledge of networking/web, phishing/cyberattacks, and incident response Security + certification and other security related certifications are preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, planning, analysis and organizing skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time and ticket management skills
  • May occasionally work evenings or weekends as this position is part of an on-call rotation.
  • Must be able to lift:
    • 50 pounds to waist height
    • 50 pounds to shoulder height
    • 20 pounds above the head
