The Security Specialist is responsible for monitoring, investigating, and responding to day-to-day security alerts, incidents, and issues. This includes alert management, log searches, issue investigation, and effective coordination and collaboration with Business and IT Teams.

The Security Specialist is responsible for monitoring, investigating, and responding to day-to-day security alerts, incidents, and issues. This includes alert management, log searches, issue investigation, and effective coordination and collaboration with Business and IT Teams.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to and investigate day-to-day security alerts generated by the company's automated security tools or reports from end users. Forwards escalations to Security Analysts for further investigation.
- Assist in the documentation and enhancement of the security issue response process. This includes providing feedback to management to improve our security response.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Security from four-year college or university preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Entry level Security Certification such as Security + preferred
- Basic knowledge of networking/web, phishing/cyberattacks, and incident response Security + certification and other security related certifications are preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication, planning, analysis and organizing skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong time and ticket management skills
- May occasionally work evenings or weekends as this position is part of an on-call rotation.
- Must be able to lift:
- 50 pounds to waist height
- 50 pounds to shoulder height
- 20 pounds above the head
