Job Description:
Pay Range: $50hr - $55hr
Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
- Analyse functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Perform unit testing, debugging, and code reviews to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Support production systems and resolve incidents in a timely and efficient manner.
- CollaboXX with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with distributed systems.
- Document code, processes, and technical procedures for ongoing support and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in system upgrades, patching, and performance tuning activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and automation of routine tasks.
- 8+ years of experience in mainframe development and support.
- Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
- Experience with file handling (VSAM), batch processing, and online transaction processing.
- Familiarity with job scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M, CA-7).
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with mainframe testing tools (e.g., File-AID, XPEDITER).
- Understanding of SDLC and software documentation practices.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Exposure to Agile development methodologies and sprint-based delivery.
- Experience with version control tools (e.g., Endevor, Git).
- Knowledge of mainframe modernization or integration with distributed/cloud systems.
- Domain experience in banking, insurance, or healthcare.
- Certifications in mainframe technologies or enterprise development frameworks.
