Cybersecurity Automation Engineer Contract Length: 12+ months
Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid)

We re seeking a Cybersecurity Automation Engineer to support our Security Operations Center (SOC) team on-site at a client location. This role is ideal for someone who is process-oriented, efficient, and focused on reducing manual effort through automation. The position operates within a DevSecOps environment, working alongside analysts and engineers to develop integrations, script automated playbooks, and streamline SOC workflows. Responsibilities also include supporting SOC modernization efforts, responding to emergent development needs, and contributing to security analytics, alerting capabilities, and integration of telemetry and contextual data. The team is fast-paced and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on innovation, continuous learning, and delivering impactful cybersecurity solutions.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in cybersecurity (SOC or related role)
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, InfoSec, or related field
  • Hands-on experience with SOAR tools (e.g., XSOAR, Swimlane, Phantom)
  • Proficient in Python; working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, JavaScript
  • Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar)
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving mindset
  • Experience in DevSecOps environments, Visual Studio, and security process improvement

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automation workflows in a SOAR platform
  • Integrate SOAR with security tools and APIs
  • Create and maintain custom applications and scripts (Python, JavaScript, JSON)
  • Document and improve SOC processes (SOPs, playbooks, work instructions)
  • Collaborate with SOC and IT teams to enhance detection and response capabilities
  • Support and troubleshoot automation across the SDLC
