Description
We are looking for a skilled Technical Writer to join our team in Burnsville, Minnesota. In this long-term contract position, you will create and refine technical documentation for hardware and electrical systems while ensuring accuracy and clarity. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for translating complex information into user-friendly materials.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain technical documentation for hardware and electrical systems, ensuring clarity and precision.
Collaborate with technical teams to gather information and ask targeted questions to enhance documentation quality.
Rebrand existing materials or create new documentation from scratch for multi-branded products.
Organize and streamline documentation processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Utilize tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, Illustrator, and RoboHelp to produce high-quality materials.
Conduct periodic audits of documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Adapt to agile workflows and contribute to team discussions to improve documentation strategies.
Research and understand technical products to create comprehensive user manuals and guides.
Apply AP Style and best practices in technical writing to maintain high standards.
Requirements
Proven experience in technical writing, particularly for hardware or electrical systems.
Strong communication and research skills to gather precise information from technical teams.
Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Creative Cloud, FrameMaker, Illustrator, and RoboHelp.
Familiarity with auditing practices and agile methodologies.
Ability to understand and document complex technical products.
Highly organized with a detail-oriented and process-driven approach.
Experience with AP Style and knowledge of industry standards.
Previous exposure to multi-branded products and rebranding documentation is a plus.
