Position Title :- Technical Project Manager/PMO
Location :- San Diego , California
Long term/Full Time and C2C
Work mode :- Onsite Hybrid 3 days a week
Roles and Responsibilities:-
The Tech Project Manager is responsible for driving, tracking the software development within the engineering organization.
This role will work across the engineering organization to plan, manage and drive the execution of multiple projects in the BFSI domain.
The manager works closely with Engineering and Product Leads and others to ensure successful, efficient and on time releases.
This role will be the go to person in the organization that is going to orchestrate and shepherd the flow of software from development to production .
Manage Portfolio: Across horizontals/verticals. Maintain project portfolio, track project health & ensure any issues are highlighted immediately.
Manage Client Relationship: Sustain & grow relationship with client's IT & Business leaders.
Customer expectation management and education on key topics like resourcing, offshore-onshore delivery processes, communication and status reporting requirements, etc. Liaison:
Oversee project progress, bring attention of Engineering Partner/Principal Engineer Manager's to issues in project delivery. Support Sales & Delivery teams' time on relationship management, particularly on issue escalation/resolution. Liaison with pre-sales, practices and relevant stakeholders to respond to RFPs
Advisor to Persistent: Monitor competitor activity, unearth opportunities based on client pain points. Ensure Persistent activities/goals (e.g. technology/talent pipeline planning) are based on client intelligence.
Technology know-how Should be able to Understand technology landscape and guide the teams Promote a culture of bottom up account growth and proactive proposals Streamline internal and external reporting processes Responsibilities: Influence stakeholders across functional boundaries and across multiple organizational levels to drive results Partner closely with counterparts in Development, Test, Product Management and Architecture to ensure the success of their products Develop and communicate strategy, plans, issues, and risks effectively throughout the organization Take the lead on release management activities and drive release practices and improvements Make strategic and tactical recommendations to stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of software Closely tracks delivery of requirements from product teams Creates and delivers presentations, develops communications and communicates to cross functional audiences Identifies, develops and implements tools and metrics to drive project/program and release management success Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Expanding program offering and enhancing the quality of existing programs Coordinate cross-project activities Formulate, organize and monitor inter-connected projects Decide on suitable strategies and objectives . Lead and evaluate project managers and other staff Apply change, risk and resource management Develop and control deadlines, budgets and activities Assume responsibility for the program's people and vendors Assess program performance and aim to maximize ROI Resolve projects' higher scope issues Gathering feedback and presenting insights Reporting on project performance to management team Identifying opportunities for continual improvement Knowledge of Agile methodology and SDLC Ongoing Delivery of projects and working closely with customers and tracking SLAs and Deliverables Managing multiple internal and external stakeholder Presentations and reporting to relevant teams Skills & Qualification: 6+ years in an advanced management role (preference given to those with project management experience) with an overall experience of 11+ years in the IT domain Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation and organizational skills Outstanding working knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processes Working knowledge of Agile Exposure to programming and the ability to understand basic software architecture concepts
- Minimum 12 years experience (overall)
- Has Technical depth in understanding and executing projects. If needed, can read code/get into discussions with Architects/customers in understanding or explaining solutions (should not be just coordinator/operations manager)
- Someone who has worked with Offshore team in India or can work with multi geographical teams.
- Worked as Java Backend Developer in past is highly preferred.
- Should be proactive and accountable for end to end project execution.
- Programs are inherently uncertain and should be able to work/manage the uncertainty Working experience in the BFSI domain managing projects in the Java/ReactJS and AWS technology stack would be an added advantage
