Location & Work Arrangement

  • City, State: Columbia, South Carolina
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid Requires 4 days in the office and 1 day remote.
  • Contract: This is a Contract position that supports a major, multi-year modernization program.
  • Mode of Interview: 1 round, Virtual/Online.
  • Preferred Experience: ICD-10 and Medicaid experience is highly desirable.

Essential Expertise and Scope of Work

The QA Analyst will be responsible for defining and executing quality assurance processes, translating policy into testable scenarios, and working closely with development teams to isolate and resolve technical issues.

1. Test Planning and Design (5+ Years Required)

  • Requirements Translation: 5 years translating business requirements or policy documentation into test cases and scenarios (Required).
  • Test Case Development: 5 years building test cases and scenarios into test systems (Required).
  • Test Design Tools: 3 years direct hands-on experience with formal test design tools (Required).
  • Test Types: Develop test plans, QA and/or User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes, and design and support user interface testing and regression testing.
  • Traceability: Develop and maintain SDLC traceability from test cases to requirements and designs/software components.

2. Execution, Defect Management & Compliance

  • Testing Execution: Initiate tests, analyze results, and find solutions; test software applications for reliability and stability.
  • Advanced Testing: Implement testing programs to perform quality assurance, including negative testing and usability.
  • Automation: Design and/or run automated testing scripts with oversight for deployment of tests.
  • Defect Management: Participate in defect triage, retest, and resolution.
  • Governance: Adhere to established software testing governance policies, best practices, and guidelines; perform reviews, walkthroughs, or inspections.

3. Domain and Methodologies (Preferred)

  • Healthcare Domain: 3 years deep knowledge of healthcare operations (preferably Medicaid) and business processes (Required).
  • SDLC Methodologies: Prior experience working in a standard SDLC (waterfall methodology) and in an AGILE delivery (3 years preferred).
  • Enterprise Systems: Experience in large enterprise or e-business systems (5 years preferred).
  • Testing Tools: Proficient in the use of manual or automated testing tools such as Azure DevOps or Atlassian JIRA and Confluence (3 years preferred).
