Job Title: Application Platform Engineer

Reports To: Applications Service Manager

Location: Corporate or Regional Office located in Washington, California, Idaho, Oregon

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Application Platform Engineer to join our technology team. This role is crucial in owning, designing, implementing, and maintaining applications that support operations and ensure efficiency, security, and compliance. The engineer will be responsible for understanding customer needs, configuring and optimizing products, providing technical support, and ensuring successful application deployment. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to deliver reliable and scalable solutions tailored to the financial industry.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Service Excellence
  • Lead by example and foster productive relationships across business and technical teams.
  • Demonstrate expertise in diagnosing and resolving diverse application issues across platforms.

  • Support management in optimizing operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
Application Design, Development & Support
  • Serve as owner and strategic leader for multiple enterprise applications (e.g., JSM, Jira, Atlassian Cloud, TalkDesk, Azure DevOps).
  • Act as lead administrator for CCaaS and SaaS applications.
  • Design, configure, customize, and optimize applications to meet specifications.
  • Manage installations, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and provide resolutions.
  • Monitor application performance, usage, licensing, and contract renewals.
  • Stay current on industry trends and collaborate with vendors for updates and enhancements.
Technical Consultation
  • Partner with business units to understand requirements and challenges.
  • Provide expert guidance on product capabilities and recommend aligned solutions.
System Integration
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to integrate technologies with existing infrastructure.
  • Ensure seamless data exchange between core systems and platforms.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Act as a liaison between IT, business units, and external partners to align efforts and define strategic roadmaps.
  • Provide regular updates on performance and project milestones.
Training & Documentation
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and support materials.
  • Train end-users and internal teams on new applications and upgrades.
  • Promote adoption, standardization, and best practices.
Service Delivery
  • Understand technology, financial products, regulatory climate, and functionality needs to support business units.
  • Maintain knowledge of systems and processes for technical support and audits.
  • Model professionalism and customer service excellence.
  • Plan cross-departmental requirements efficiently to minimize stakeholder impact.
Operational Oversight
  • Manage daily operations, monitor application health, and resolve issues.
  • Use Agile methodology to track and prioritize work.
  • Complete required training and maintain confidentiality.
  • Support team with product, technology, and operational knowledge.
Basic Qualifications

Education/Skills/Training:
  • Experience administering CCaaS and SaaS applications (e.g., JSM, Jira, Atlassian Cloud, TalkDesk, Azure DevOps).
  • Strong understanding of application architecture, configurations, governance, and change management.
  • Familiarity with API integrations.
  • Knowledge of operating systems, networking protocols, server administration, and cloud technologies.
  • Understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and share knowledge.
  • Desire to learn and grow in technical systems and platforms.

  • Atlassian certifications
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner certification
