Job Details

A Tableau Developer designs, builds, and maintains interactive dashboards and reports using the Tableau platform to provide actionable data insights for business decisions. Key responsibilities include understanding business requirements, extracting and transforming data with SQL, optimizing data extracts and workbook performance, ensuring data security, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver effective data visualizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dashboard & Report Development: Design and build custom, interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau Desktop, Tableau Cloud, and other Tableau products.
  • Data Extraction & Preparation: Write SQL queries to extract data from various databases and use Tableau Prep to clean, transform, and prepare data for visualization.
  • Performance Optimization: Tune queries, optimize data extracts, and structure workbooks to ensure fast load times and efficient performance.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities, translating them into easy-to-understand visual formats.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with business users, data engineers, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide effective solutions.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and training to end-users, ensuring they can effectively use Tableau tools and understand the data presented.
  • Data Security & Governance: Implement data security measures to control access and ensure that sensitive information is protected.
  • Maintenance & Enhancement: Maintain, update, and enhance existing dashboards and reports to meet evolving business needs.
  • Staying Current: Keep up-to-date with the latest features, functionalities, and best practices of the Tableau platform.

Essential Skills

  • Tableau Proficiency: Deep knowledge of the Tableau suite, including Desktop, Prep, and Cloud/Server.
  • SQL Expertise: Strong skills in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and joining.
  • Data Analysis: The ability to analyze and interpret complex data to derive meaningful insights.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with business stakeholders and articulate technical information.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve data and report issues.
  • Data Modeling: Understanding of data modeling concepts to organize and structure data for optimal analysis
