Job Description

Summary Of Position
This position is responsible for designing, creating, deploying and managing the data architecture. The core role of this position will be to define how the data will be stored, consumed, integrated and managed by different data entities within the Business Intelligence ecosystem. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with subject matter experts to implement business intelligence solutions and work with team members to estimate work efforts. This position will be held within the client's IT function where the position will report to the Senior Director of IT. This position will have direct reports on the data team.

Essential Functions
Exhibit strong ability to apply data analysis, architect skills, and business process expertise to solve business challenges.
Translate business needs into long-term information architecture solutions.
Participate in developing solution blueprints, evaluating hardware and software platforms.
Engage in and complete several Business Intelligence projects.
Develop and implement strategies for integrating data from multiple sources and monitoring large scale database environments.
Apply experience with data modeling structures such as normalization, star schema, etc. and data warehousing techniques such as ODS, Data Marts, Staging, etc.
Design data models and build data integration specifications such as source to target maps for ETL developers
Provide estimates executing information management solutions
Conduct data quality initiatives to rid the system of old, unused, or duplicate data (profiling, auditing, cleansing).
Participate in developing solution blueprints, evaluating hardware and software platforms.
Participate in the planning of complex upgrades or conversions.
Develop and implement strategies for operating multiple instances of databases, including clustered environments and distributed processing
Lead / Coach programmer analysts/ETL developers in processes, techniques and problem solving methods.
Assist with the BI roadmap planning and/or project request approval processes
Leverage business acumen to drive credibility to BI efforts
Leverage experience to foresee potential project challenges and issues before they occur and execute proactive measures to mitigate project risks
Supply strong communication to project team members, users and stakeholders.

Requirements

Education
A degree in business management (with relevant experience), information systems, computer science, mathematics, operations, or a related field is required

Experience & Key Attributes
Minimum 10 years related experience working in one of the following disciplines: Datawarehouse, Business Intelligence, Information Management or Database Administration
Lead direct reports on the BI team.
Strong understanding of data modeling and architectural principles (Normalization, Star Schema, Data Warehousing, ODS, OLAP, Data Marts, Staging).
Advanced SQL programming skills
Experience with one or more data integration tools (DTS, SSIS, Informatica, Data Stage, etc.).
Experience with data modeling tools and concepts (ERwin, Power Designer, ORACLE Designer 2000, ER/Studio, etc.).
Understands information management governing principles and best practices (data profiling, auditing, cleansing MDM, Data Governance, Metadata management, etc.).
Exposure to one or more delivery applications (Power Apps and Power BI, BI Gateways, Reporting Services, Cognos, Analysis Services, Tableau, Crystal Reports, ProClarity, etc.).
Understanding of related data management principles such as Master Data Management (MDM), Data Governance, Metadata management, etc.
Working knowledge of business process (ERP, CRM, BPM, Finance, etc.).
Oracle EBS experience is a plus.
Experience developing requirements for ETL processes (validations, transformations and/or developing requirements for data management tool-sets).
Working knowledge of project management methodologies and has previously supported change management and issue management.
Self-starter with a strong track-record of exceptional performance
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to quickly synthesize data and develop recommendations.
Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem solving, presentation and planning skills.
Expertise with the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
Proven ability to complete projects and achieve results in an ambiguous work environment.
Proven skills to work effectively across internal functional areas in ambiguous situations.
Experience with BI or analytics in a discrete manufacturing environment is preferred.
