The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is seeking a Biomedical Technician 1 to join the department of Building Services. Reporting to the Director of Building Services and under the direction of the lead technician, provides service and repairs to dental related equipment, assist in minor building systems repairs and moving of equipment/furniture for the College of Dentistry; assists in the designs, construction and installation of electronic devices used on dental equipment; assist department in various duties relating to building services as directed by immediate supervisor, may be asked to work evenings, weekends for special events or due to emergency situations.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; subject to flexibility on hours as needed; may need to work occasional evening and weekends; subject to 24/7 emergency call-in.

May work at satellite facilities and training at off-site locations. Subject to working conditions as dirt; chemical fumes and exposure; electrical hazard and shock; may be exposed to dangerous power equipment, may work at heights up to 30 ft. about ground level; working with power equipment in machine & wood shop; frequently lift moderate to heavy objects (50+); drive state vehicle.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

Required: High School diploma or equivalent certificate; training in operating electrical tools & equipment (or l mo. exp.); requires a driver's license.

Desired: Experience with repair and maintenance equipment; knowledge of electrical measuring meters, power driven shop tools and common hand tools; basic understanding of reading blueprint, plumbing, and patch/paint experience desired.

Targeted Hiring Pay Range is $18.17 - $23.90 based on education and experience.
