Job Title: Field Service Engineer I
Location: Los Angeles County (Ideal candidate will live close to Los Angeles, CA)

Travel: 75% of the time
Pay Range: Hourly $25.60/hr to $38.39/hr.

Your Role
As a Field Service Engineer (FSE), you will perform customer installations, repairs, qualifications, and preventative maintenance on a variety of instruments. You will engage positively with customers to tackle technical problems and find opportunities to enhance their work. Additionally, you will drive service sales opportunities. You will apply your in-depth specialty knowledge, develop innovative plans, solve complex problems using analytical skills, and deliver impactful results. Effective communication with internal and external partners is crucial.

Responsibilities
You will supervise and plan workflow proactively, prioritizing and planning activities for yourself and your team. Demonstrating strong awareness of LIFE products, you will resolve most customer issues independently. Continuous improvement of your knowledge of service products is essential. You will provide onsite installation, user training, upgrades, updates, repairs, and preventative maintenance service. Following all reporting responsibilities and adhering to policies related to spare parts management is required. Managing travel expenses according to company policies and collaborating closely with customers and internal partners to resolve issues is part of your role. You will support the development and updates of field service SOPs, drive revenue in specialized products, build and maintain customer relationships, achieve customer satisfaction targets, and mentor peers.

Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or equivalent work experience is required. You should have 0-3 years of experience in Science, Engineering, and/or Customer Service. Effective questioning skills, the ability to exercise judgment in setting work priorities, and the ability to work independently and as a positive team member are essential. Adaptability to change with positive and constructive feedback is necessary. Availability to travel overnight within the territory or other areas as required is necessary. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree, experience in clinical, diagnostics, and/or other regulated environments, skills for learning and understanding IT systems and processes, and experience in related product applications.

Working Conditions
Frequent travel to customer sites, ranging from 50-75% of work time, is expected. You will work from both a home office and a laboratory environment. The ability to lift 40 lbs. unassisted and to stand for extended periods while performing duties is vital. You must be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials and be flexible to work overtime and varied shifts as needed.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $25.60-$38.39.
