We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Permanent Welding Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to the problems involving fabrication of metals. The position requires an individual with a passion for problem-solving, an in-depth understanding of welding processes, and a strong ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team. If you are a seasoned professional with a strong background in robotics, welding, AWS, welding engineering technology, MIG welding, and fixture design, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
1. Developing and optimizing welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment.
2. Applying knowledge of metallurgy and engineering principles to the production floor.
3. Conducting research and development investigations to develop and test new fabrication processes and procedures.
4. Designing and implementing welding fixtures and tooling to improve efficiency and quality.
5. Evaluating new developments in the welding field for possible application to current welding problems or production processes.
6. Ensuring compliance with appropriate industry safety and design standards.
7. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality engineers to ensure project completion.
8. Providing technical support to production staff and resolving technical challenges.
9. Training and guiding production welders on new procedures and techniques.
10. Conducting failure analysis and implementing corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering Technology or a related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in a welding engineering role.
3. Proficient in MIG welding and fixture design.
4. Extensive experience with robotics and automated welding systems.
5. Knowledge of AWS welding codes and metallurgy.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment.
9. Proficient in using CAD software for fixture design.
10. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
11. Strong knowledge of safety procedures and regulations in the industry.
12. AWS Certified Welding Engineer or equivalent certification would be a plus.
