The ADAPT (AI, Data, and Platform Technologies) Engineering team is integral to KKR's technological strategy, architecting and supporting the firm's foundational data and AI capabilities. This team is recognized as a key enabler for global scale and business transformation, driving excellence by evolving technology into robust, platform-based solutions that enhance agility and deliver material business impact.

POSITION OVERVIEW

KKR is seeking an entry-level Engineer to join the core ADAPT team in New York. This Engineer will work alongside the broader team in advancing its mission of constructing an organization with world-class data engineering capabilities that efficiently process massive data pipelines, leverage state-of-the-art AI-powered insights and document extraction, and integrate seamlessly across diverse cloud-powered databases. Responsibilities will align with the core goals of the team listed below:
  • Enterprise Data Engineering: Design, implement, and optimize large-scale, complex data pipelines for performance, reliability, and security, governing the firm's most critical structured and unstructured data assets.
  • AI-Powered Data Insights: Guide technical deployment of advanced techniques for document extraction and AI-powered insights from unstructured financial data sets, transforming raw information into actionable intelligence.
  • Modern Data Stack Strategy: Provide technical support across the modern data engineering stack, including distributed file systems and diverse cloud-powered databases such as Aurora, Snowflake, AWS services (e.g., S3, Glue), and equivalent Google Cloud Platform technologies.
  • Advanced Database Architectures: Architect and implement next-generation data storage solutions, including leveraging open formats like Iceberg, and specialized vectorized and graph databases to accelerate knowledge discovery and semantic search capabilities.
  • Global Service Deployment: Build and maintain scalable, firm-wide deployed global services and APIs that ensure reliable, performant data access for downstream AI and application teams

Primary Qualifications and Skills:
  • Currently attending a university in North America with an outstanding academic record
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field with an anticipated graduation in December 2025 - June 2026
  • Proficiency with Java, Python, SQL, c/c++
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and communicating ideas
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to act both strategically and tactically with exceptional attention to detail
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines
  • Team-player who enjoys working in a collaborative and collegial environment and is willing to pitch-in when needed
  • Intellectual curiosity and an interest in financial services and alternative investments

This is the expected annual base salary range for this New York-based position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.

Base Salary Range

$100,000-$110,000 USD
