Business Intelligence Developer

The responsibilities of the Business Intelligence Analyst will be to understand the metrics and systems driving the business, cultivate data from various sources and present useful reports and data visualizations. To enable operational excellence, the need for meticulous, real-time KPIs and financial statistics has become essential to maximize company performance. The Business Intelligence Analyst will assist our client in reaching new growth goals by improving transparency throughout our operations. The successful candidate will be a driven, self-starter, and competitive with 3+ years of business intelligence oversight experience using data visualization tools. This position will report directly to the VP of IT.

This is a direct hire role, no C2C, no sponsorship at any point must already be local to Aurora, IL.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Engage with business partners, understand needs from KPIs, business results, industry sources and customer information then translate requirements into data driven views or reports

- Responsible for maintaining a portfolio of reports in multiple formats and platforms, keeping them current, efficient and usable

- Mines and manages data from various sources within databases, data warehouses or data lakes.

Extraction and translation of data through BI tools such as Power BI, Domo and SSIS.

- Development and support of reports, views, dashboards and metrics using BI tools such as Power BI,

Domo and SSRS that provide business insight and aid decision making

- Analyze data that must be organized efficiently and effectively, in an easily accessible manner with a high attention to detail

- Assist with the management of Infor SyteLine SQL data, SyteLine reporting and document delivery

- Troubleshoots and resolves database issues to ensure data integrity

- Maintain documentation of any processes, including development and implementation of effective training materials for users

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

- Strong understanding of SQL

- Experience with visualization tools like PowerBI, Domo or Tableau

- Uses statistical methods, modeling, analytical methodologies and data analysis

- Experience with scripting, Python or R a plus

- Database ETL, performance optimization and SSIS a plus

- ERP experience. Infor or Epicor a plus

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis

- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor's Degree in Business Information Systems, Finance, Computer Science or similar

- 3+ years business intelligence oversight

- A keen eye for trends and correlating data to business fundamentals

- Self-motivated and comfortable working in an independent working environment

- Strong understanding of SQL

- Experience with visualization tools like PowerBI, Domo or Tableau
