Job Title: IT Security Architect
Location: Hybrid (2 days on-site in Michigan; Tue/Wed)
Duration: 1 Year (Possible Extension)

Job Summary:
The State of Michigan seeks an experienced IT Security Architect to support Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and IoT networks. The role includes evaluating, securing, and enhancing the cybersecurity posture of the state's transportation infrastructure. The candidate will assist MDOT with implementing best practices, conducting risk assessments, and deploying monitoring tools to safeguard against cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support cybersecurity for ITS and IoT networks

  • Perform risk assessments and recommend improvements

  • Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices

  • Conduct and coordinate vulnerability scans

  • Advise on system settings and configurations

  • Collaborate with system engineers and serve as a security issue resource

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years in a Security Architect or related role

  • 3+ years conducting risk assessments

  • 3+ years enforcing compliance with security standards

  • 3+ years reviewing configurations for security best practices

  • 3+ years coordinating vulnerability scanning

  • Knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework

  • Understanding of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
