Role Summary

This position will lead the Brake Engineering Team. In the team there are 6 Design and Release Engineers with various level of experience, they are responsible for the entire braking system (System sizing, Rotors, Calipers, Park Brake, Tubes and Hoses, Actuation, Pedals). The Team works across all vehicle lines (R1, EDV, MSP)

Responsibilities

  • Define priorities for the team to meet program deliveries:
    • 2D and 3D geometry release with an appropriate level of maturity for Virtual Builds
    • Kick off suppliers to support all the build phases.
    • Coordinate virtual analysis and validation for the components.
    • Define and plan supplier component tests.
  • Guide and support the team to make sure best engineering practices are implemented.
  • Liaise with the Attribute Team to define technology road map.
  • Work in synergy with the Purchasing team to ensure best possible sourcing.
  • Deliver brake systems to all targets (cost, mass, investment, performance, durability).
  • Liaise with the Design Studio to ensure brake systems meet visual appearance requirements.
  • Cooperate with the Reliability team to generate DFMEA and Development Plans
  • Manage components and systems Suppliers.
  • Create and develop engineering specification packages that effectively communicate to internal and external partners to ensure products meet given project parameters.
  • Work together with the Concept and Package team to define the appropriate architecture for future vehicles to accommodate the brake technology road map.
  • Define Roles and Responsibilities in the team.
  • Define and maintain a career development plan for each team member.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or master's degree in automotive or mechanical engineering required
  • 10+ years of experience in Chassis.
  • Good knowledge of brake systems.
  • Ability to communicate with clear and effective presentations.
  • People managing experience and leadership skills.
  • Ability to define guidelines for other engineers.

Pay Disclosure

Salary range for California Based Applicants: $ 176,200 - $220 ,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
