Instrument Planning Technician

Location: Beaumont, TX - Onsite, 5 days/week
Duration: 12+ months (long-term contract)

About the Role

iSphere is seeking a hands-on Instrument Planning Technician with strong instrumentation field experience to join our client in Beaumont. This isn t a scheduling-only role we re looking for someone who truly understands instrumentation in the field and can plan effectively for reliability and maintenance programs. If you ve been in the trenches and can bring that knowledge to SAP planning, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain maintenance & reliability programs for instrumentation assets.

• Create job packs with complete documentation for instrumentation-related work plans.

• Build and manage outage and project schedules using SAP, with Prometheus or Primavera P6 as a bonus.

• Coordinate work orders and scheduling across Operations and Maintenance teams.

• Generate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and long-term look-ahead schedules in close collaboration with supervisors, engineers, and technicians.

• Ensure proper documentation within CMMS modules; provide technical support as needed.

• Track compliance with regulatory requirements, generating KPI reports and trend analysis.

• Identify material requirements, interface with vendors, and support supply chain needs.

• Assist with budget planning, procedural updates, and training development.

• Provide strong field-driven planning input to ensure maintenance is executed efficiently and safely.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of hands-on instrumentation experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or related facilities.

• Strong planning background with proven SAP S/4HANA experience.

• Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning not just scheduling.

• Solid understanding of planning, scheduling, and execution processes.

• Strong MS Office skills.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and attention to detail.

• TWIC card in-hand preferred, but open to candidates willing to renew or obtain one.

Nice-to-Haves

• Prometheus experience.

• Primavera P6 or MS Project experience.

• PHMSA-regulated facility experience.

• Gas compression and metering equipment knowledge.

• Exposure to scaffolding, rigging/lifting, welding, fabrication, or machining estimation/planning.
