Commercial Card Technology is a part of Payments Technology organization that offers payment solutions including traditional credit card and virtual payments for midsize to large companies and organizations in the United States and Canada. As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial Card, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team's work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices. You'll work in an autonomous, collaborative, trusting, thought provoking environment-one that encourages diversity of thought and creative solutions that are in the best interests of our customers globally.

Job responsibilities
  • Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
  • Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
  • Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
  • Manages stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
  • Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
  • Experience leading technology projects and managing technologists
  • Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods including all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
  • Experience with a combination of PySpark, Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, Data Lakes, data products, Cloud Based Big data technologies and handling Metadata
  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code
  • Creates data models for complex applications and integrations while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by data engineering standards and software code development

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience working at code level
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Culturally sensitive in a role that spans regions and time zones
