IT Project Manager Public Healthcare (Austin, TX | Hybrid)

Contract: Long-Term
Eligibility: Must be local to the Austin area and able to work onsite 3 days per week (hybrid schedule). Must be able to work on a W2 basis (no C2C, 1099, or third-party vendors). Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or visa transfer.

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager with a strong background in large-scale IT and public healthcare projects. The role requires leadership in planning, execution, stakeholder engagement, and Agile delivery. The ideal candidate will be adept at guiding complex IT initiatives from inception through completion, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance with project management best practices.

Minimum Requirements to Be Considered:

  • 10+ years managing projects with implementations across large organizations, including project plans, risk/issue management, and contingency planning.

  • 10+ years of experience analyzing complex problems, preparing concise reports, and devising solutions.

  • 10+ years overseeing SDLC artifacts, ensuring business requirements are translated into technical specifications, and facilitating the full SDLC process.

  • 10+ years developing and maintaining strong relationships with project sponsors and stakeholders, with proven communication and presentation skills.

  • 10+ years summarizing/escalating issues, preparing weekly status updates, and leading project team meetings.

  • 10+ years of experience in collaborative, fast-paced environments with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • 8+ years of experience with Agile methodology, including sprint planning, tracking progress, and managing feature-driven sprints.

  • 8+ years leading multi-million dollar software and IT projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience implementing Agile methodologies for a State of Texas agency.

  • Background in healthcare or public health IT projects.

  • PMP Certification or recognized Project Management credential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead IT and public healthcare projects across large organizations.

  • Develop and manage project plans, risks, issues, and contingency plans.

  • Oversee SDLC processes and ensure clear translation of requirements into technical deliverables.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and executive sponsors.

  • Provide weekly project updates and conduct regular team meetings.

  • Manage Agile ceremonies, sprint progress, and deliverables.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
