Java Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a remote Java Developer to join their team.

Summary:
This role will involve identifying, analyzing, and remediating vulnerabilities (CVEs) across enterprise-scale applications, ensuring secure upload and data handling processes, and addressing liability concerns related to cloud deployments. You will work across backend, frontend, and cloud infrastructure layers, embedding security-first principles into full stack solutions while collaborating closely with DevOps and InfoSec teams.

Key Responsibilities:
* Java Developer will identify, prioritize, and remediate CVEs and other security vulnerabilities in Java-based applications, microservices, and cloud environments
* Implement and validate fixes for upload-related liabilities
* Enhance and maintain secure cloud-native applications leveraging AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform services
* Collaborate with security teams to resolve findings from SAST/DAST scans, dependency scans, and penetration tests
* Design and build full stack solutions using Java (Spring Boot), React/Angular, REST APIs, and microservices
* Ensure security integration in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.), including automated scans and patch validation
* As a Java Developer, you will partner with DevOps teams to enforce secure containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
* Conduct root cause analysis, code reviews, and remediation documentation for compliance and audit purposes
* Champion best practices in secure coding, cloud governance, and data protection across the organization

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Java Developer
* Hands-on experience remediating vulnerabilities tied to CVEs, OWASP Top 10, and dependency/library upgrades
* Database experience (SQL, NoSQL) with attention to security best practices
* Strong cloud-native development experience (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure)
* Strong backend expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated vulnerability detection/remediation
* Frontend proficiency in React or Angular
* Strong debugging, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
* Proven ability to secure file upload processes (validation, size restrictions, AV scanning, encryption)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
