Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Mainframe Developer with 10+ years of hands-on expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining Toyota s enterprise-grade mainframe applications and ensuring smooth execution of large-scale batch and online systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain applications on IBM Mainframe z/OS platform.
- Work extensively with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and other mainframe utilities.
- Support and optimize Toyota s large-scale batch processing cycles, ensuring accuracy, performance, and SLA compliance.
- Work with CICS/IMS for online transaction processing systems.
- Troubleshoot complex mainframe issues, conduct root cause analysis, and provide timely resolutions.
- Convert functional and business requirements into robust technical designs and high-quality code.
- Collaborate with Toyota s business stakeholders, architects, QA teams, and production support groups.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, security best practices, and Toyota compliance policies.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, code reviews, and release cycles.
- Prepare technical documentation, support audits, and contribute to process improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on development experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, IMS, VSAM, and mainframe utilities.
- Strong understanding of IBM Mainframe z/OS environment and batch scheduling tools.
- Experience with performance tuning, data analysis, and large-scale batch processing.
- Ability to analyze complex systems and provide efficient technical solutions.
- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps concepts.
- Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work with onsite/offshore teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in automotive or manufacturing domains (Toyota experience is a plus).
- Exposure to modernization projects, API integration, or migration from legacy systems.
- Familiarity with ChangeMan, Endevor, Control-M, or similar tools.
Education
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
