Location & Work Arrangement

• City, State: Mechanicsville, Virginia
• Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite.
• Contract: This is a 12-Month Contract position.
• Mode of Interview: Either In person or Remote.

Essential Expertise and Scope of Work

The Configuration Manager will own the CMDB, define CI policies, and collaborate across all functional IT areas to ensure service delivery alignment with ITIL best practices and Commonwealth of Virginia (COV) policy.

1. Configuration Management & ITIL (8+ Years Required)

• CM Process Ownership: Experience designing and implementing Configuration Management policies, systems, and monitoring programs for enterprise environments (8 years required).
• ITIL Certification: ITIL Foundation Certification is Required. Intermediate or Expert level certification is highly desired.
• Process Alignment: Strong understanding of ITIL v3/v4 processes-especially Configuration, Change, Incident, and Problem Management.
• Governance & Policy: Develop, implement, and maintain policies and processes in line with ITIL standards and Commonwealth of Virginia (COV) policy (knowledge desired).

2. CMDB Tooling and Cloud Focus

• CMDB Tool: Strong, hands-on knowledge of Ivanti Neurons for ITSM CMDB capabilities (2 years required), including CI class modeling and discovery tools.
• Cloud Integration: Proven experience in Configuration Management within an Azure environment.
• Integration Focus: Familiarity with implementing a CMDB with a specific emphasis on integrating Azure resources to support Change and FinOps activities (8 years required).

3. Key Responsibilities and Auditing

• CMDB Management: Own and manage the CMDB, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with Change, Incident, and FinOps teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Monitoring: Establish and track KPIs/metrics for Configuration Management maturity and CMDB health.
• Auditing: Monitor and audit configuration data to ensure quality and reliability. Familiarity with audit and compliance frameworks is preferred.
