Title: Project Manager - GIS Product
Location: Hicksville or Bethpage, NY
Mode: Fulltime Position
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Information Technology, with a strong background in GIS systems and enterprise solutions.
- Bachelor s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficient with ESRI technologies including ArcGIS, ArcMap, and ArcGIS Pro.
- Hands-on experience with ArcFM editing tools and MicroStation for geospatial data design and updates.
- In-depth knowledge of geospatial databases, including experience with ESRI Geometric Network and Utility Network data models.
- Proven experience migrating data from ESRI Geometric Network databases to ESRI Utility Network architecture.
- Strong understanding of spatial databases such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, and MySQL.
- Solid background in project and program management, including planning, execution, monitoring, and stakeholder communication.
- Familiarity with CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) processes and quality standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage GIS projects within complex IT environments and cross-functional teams
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, development, and delivery of GIS-based products and projects from inception to completion.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define product features and specifications.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Develop and manage cost models across the GIS product/project portfolio to support budgeting and investment decisions.
- Work closely with governance bodies to review and gain approval for GIS strategies, roadmaps, and key initiatives.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including GIS analysts, developers, designers, and data scientists.
- Ensure GIS solutions align with organizational goals and meet user needs and technical requirements.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, scalability, and reliability within the GIS business domain.
- Oversee data integration, quality assurance, and maintenance of geospatial data and services.
- Stay updated on GIS trends, technologies, and tools (e.g., Esri, QGIS, web mapping platforms).
- Manage vendor relationships, procurement processes, and third-party contracts as needed.
- Facilitate training, documentation, and support for end users and internal teams.
- Champion agile or other project management methodologies to optimize delivery efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement by gathering user feedback and iterating on GIS products.
