Job Title :Client Technologies Technician Entry
Location :Columbia, SC(Onsite )
Seeking an experienced IT Support Technician to provide technical assistance in the setup, installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners, software applications, and network-connected devices. The role includes building and deploying endpoints using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), ensuring proper encryption and system configuration, maintaining accurate asset documentation, resolving user-reported issues, and supporting day-to-day IT operations within an enterprise environment. The technician will work onsite, supporting end users and collaborating with IT staff to ensure reliable and efficient technology operations.
Daily Responsibilities
Build desktops, laptops, and tablets using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
Ensure BitLocker keys are stored in Active Directory and Intune.
Verify MECM Client installation on all newly built devices.
Ensure each device remains connected to the NTS Network for 2.5 hours after build completion.
Confirm all required software is installed per build sheet.
Document all assigned IT assets in the IT Services Asset Management System.
Diagnose and resolve endpoint hardware/software issues; record work in Help Desk ticket system.
Perform routine equipment maintenance or coordinate vendor repairs.
Assist in removal/disposal of obsolete equipment following policy.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Monthly Responsibilities
Connect SCDOT Commission tablets to the NTS Network for Patch Tuesday updates.
Keep tablets powered on and network-connected from Friday to Wednesday each patch cycle.
Power and charge iPads during the same timeframe.
Log in before shutting down tablets post-update cycle.
Required Skills
4+ years in desktop and networked systems support.
Strong experience with desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners.
2+ years in computer deployment, operation, and repair.
2+ years in hardware and software installation.
2+ years with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
Experience supporting Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Edge).
Expertise in Microsoft Windows support.
Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently.
Preferred Skills
Experience with a help desk ticketing system.
Experience with the NTS Network.
Familiarity with Active Directory or Intune.
Required Education / Certifications
High School Diploma.
Associate or Bachelor s degree (may substitute for work experience).
