Position : IT Project Manager IV- Kong API
Location : Chicago, IL
Duration : 12 Months with EXT
Job Description:
- Technical Expertise: Understanding of API management platforms particularly Kong including its features like API Products Dev Portals and access control mechanisms. Familiarity with cloud environments and tools like Terraform for infrastructure management is beneficial. -
- Project Management Skills: Proficiency in project management methodologies to plan execute and monitor the deployment process. Ability to manage timelines resources budgets and stakeholder communications effectively.
- Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership skills to guide teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Ability to facilitate discussions and workshops to share best practices and improve execution skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and eliminate waste in projects adapt to changes and resolve issues that arise during the integration process.
- Experience: Rolling out large complex enterprise integration platforms like Kong for enterprises with portfolios managing 100 applications
- Familiarity with Platform Infrastructure in the technology stack i.e. understanding how these two functions between OS DB and applications -
- Familiarity with CI/CD Pipeline management
- Hybrid Agile/Scrum tools Experience Jira/Confluence or similar
- API Management is a nice to have but not required if there is some correlated experience
- Vendor management - review SOW support procurement finance follow through with vendor and call out problems without creating rifts - Be vocal comfortable engaging and holding a line with leadership \
- Problem solver alternative solution thinking we cant have this what can we have that will get us close enough
- Finance aptitude - ability to understand project funding at a high level
Job Summary:
- Maintains information technology strategies by managing staff researching and implementing technological strategic solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining delivering and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
- Directs technological research by studying organization goals strategies practices and user projects.
- Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data center.
- Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
- Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
- Recommends information technology strategies policies and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes identifying problems evaluating trends anticipating requirements.
- Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements preparing an annual budget scheduling expenditures analyzing variances initiating corrective action.
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by staying current on state-of-the-art practices.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science Business Management Business Administration or other related discipline
- Experience in the IT industry including development work and customer interaction
- PMP Certification
