Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Spatial Data Warehousing Specialist to design, develop, maintain, and optimize large-scale spatial data warehouses and geospatial analytics solutions. This role plays a critical part in transforming complex spatial data into actionable insights for business and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in spatial databases, ETL processes, cloud data platforms, and GIS tools.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain spatial data warehouses, data marts, and related ETL processes.

Develop and optimize complex spatial queries, data models, and geospatial analytics pipelines.

Integrate spatial data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency.

Collaborate with GIS analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders to understand spatial data requirements and deliver innovative solutions.

Develop automated data validation and quality assurance procedures.

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for spatial data architectures, workflows, and standards.

Support the development of dashboards, reports, and visualizations with spatial components.

Troubleshoot data issues and optimize database performance for large-scale spatial datasets.

Stay current with advancements in spatial data warehousing technologies, GIS tools, and cloud-based solutions.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor s or Master s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Data Engineering, Geography, or a related field.

5 years of progressive experience in spatial data warehousing, spatial databases, and GIS technologies.

Strong hands-on experience with spatial database platforms such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, or SQL Server with spatial extensions.

Expertise in ETL tools and techniques for handling geospatial data (e.g., FME, Talend, custom Python/SQL ETL).

Advanced proficiency with SQL, spatial queries, and query optimization.

Experience with cloud-based data warehouse solutions (e.g., AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery) and their spatial capabilities.

Familiarity with GIS software such as Esri ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar.

Strong understanding of spatial data formats, projections, coordinate systems, and metadata standards.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Python, R, or other scripting languages for geospatial analysis and data processing.

Knowledge of big data frameworks (e.g., Spark with GeoSpark or Sedona) for spatial analytics at scale.
