Primary Function

The Team Lead Mortgage Insurance will be responsible for assisting with training team members across all 3 of our Mortgage Insurance teams (Research, Billing, and Reconciliation). The employee will assist with timely payments of monthly and annual premiums; as well as ensuring loan level data is accurately maintained. The Team Lead will perform all duties in accordance with the company guidelines, applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Principal Duties:

  • Oversees execution of monthly premium payments for PMI.
  • Responsible for monthly monitoring and reconciliation of PMI.
  • Participate in projects outside of general day to day duties including testing new processes.
  • Assisting with training of new employees and additional training of existing employees as needed.
  • Solves problems rapidly and cost-effectively with minimal disruption.
  • Point of contact for MI Carriers.
  • Recommend process improvements that can aid in the efficiency and quality within the MI Dept.
  • Assist management and supervisors with monitoring work volumes across all 3 teams.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Review and approve MI premium payment batches for payment.
  • Performs related duties and special projects as assigned by management.

In addition, the Company has determined that an in-person presence is important to critical components of our work, including oversight, training, collaboration, and productivity. Education and Experience

Required education and experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent mortgage experience.
  • 6+ years residential mortgage loan servicing experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience training team members.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required knowledge, skills, and ability.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible to changing priorities, project scopes, and deadlines at any given time.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced understanding of SQL data warehouse environments and OnBase imaging system.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills with an ability to present to management as well as work well in a collaborative environment with all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to make sound decisions based upon department, company policies, procedures, knowledge, and experience.
