Location: Must reside in proximity to New Orleans LA, Jackson MS, Little Rock, AR or The Woodlands, TX

Position Summary:
The Solution Architect serves as a senior technical expert responsible for supporting client s SAP IS-U system, with a focus on billing, rates, AMI, and integration with MDMS. This role ensures that IT solutions align with business goals and adhere to architectural standards.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Technical SME Responsibilities:

• Act as a key technical advisor for SAP IS-U billing and rates functions.
• Perform analysis, design, configuration for SAP enhancements and support issues.
• Collaborate with business users to understand issues, explain SAP functionality, and gather system requirements.
• Support application integration and lifecycle road mapping.
• Provide ongoing support for AMI, bill print (Print Workbench), and related technologies.

1. Project Leadership:

• Lead solution design efforts (Conceptual, Logical, Physical) for assigned projects.
• Provide technical oversight to vendors and ensure compliance with EA standards.
• Support business case estimation, complexity assessment, and project planning.
• Guide solution sourcing, RFPs, and Statements of Work.
• Ensure traceability of requirements and successful execution through all SDLC phases.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor s degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

• 10+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years supporting SAP IS-U Billing and Rates.
• SAP HANA and AMI experience required.
• Experience with Customer System solutions preferred.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong understanding of utility industry solutions and processes.
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture concepts and frameworks.
• Broad IT knowledge, including infrastructure, application development, and operations..
• Deep understanding of billing and invoicing processes: Meter-to-Cash, Cycle Billing, Joint and Collective Invoicing, and Budget Billing.
• Expertise in AMI processes and integration with MDMS for billing determinants.
• Hands-on experience implementing billing-related enhancements in SAP IS-U.
• Experience with Print Workbench for bill print configuration.
• Experience developing long-term strategic plans.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present to all organizational levels, including executives.
