Portfolio and Project Manager (Hybrid, 6 12month contract)

Location: Radnor, PA (Hybrid: 2 days/week onsite)
Reports to: Director of Strategy / PMO Lead
Contract: 6 12 months with strong likelihood of extension


Job Summary

Seeking a seasoned Portfolio and Project Manager with oil & gas industry experience and proven ability to manage a team of IT Project Managers. This hybrid role offers onsite collaboration in Radnor, PA two days a week, within a 6 12 month contract framework likely to be extended. You ll manage a diverse portfolio of projects to secure strategic alignment, optimal resource utilization, performance monitoring, and process excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Align and prioritize projects/programs across business units particularly in oil & gas and IT with enterprise strategic goals.

  • Allocate and optimize resources (personnel, budget, timeline) to maximize portfolio value.

  • Own the portfolio roadmap and plan, managing initiative selection and interdependencies.

  • Monitor portfolio health using KPIs and dashboards, delivering regular performance reports and risk analysis.

  • Lead and facilitate local and enterprise-level portfolio reviews.

  • Serve as the Center of Excellence: refine processes, tools, and best practices, and coach stakeholders across departments.

  • Manage fundraising of continuous improvement by training teams and refining portfolio methodologies.

  • Oversee selected complex IT and business projects, collaborating closely with IT PMs.

  • Mentor and coordinate IT Project Managers to ensure consistency, quality, and accountability.

  • Monitor project execution, addressing risks, dependencies, and issues proactively.

  • Ensure milestones are achieved on time, within scope, budget, and quality standards.

  • Drive stakeholder alignment and communication throughout each project lifecycle.

  • Facilitate change management and adapt project delivery to evolving business needs.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Engineering, IT, or related field; MBA or Master s preferred.

  • 7+ years in project and portfolio management; 3+ years managing IT project managers.

  • Direct experience in the oil & gas sector working with upstream, midstream, or operational technology projects.

  • Proficient in PPM tools: Planview, Clarity, MS Project Online, Smartsheet, etc.

  • Certifications strongly preferred: PMP, PgMP, or PfMP.

  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven decision-making skills.
