Description: Expert Subject Matter Expert will serve as the primary technical expert for vendor solutions and for enterprise-wide assistance engineering support solutions, and products. Ability to perform and possess direct reach back into vendor research, development and technical support teams to ensure effective design and application in the production environment. Provide dedicated support and perform solution development and engineering work in the Storage Engineering and Virtualization functional areas. Mastery knowledge and ability to resolve any emergent issues with F5 solutions, systems, and technologies. Experience in related field of operating and designing F5 solutions preferably on large enterprise DoD networks. Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II required, Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level III or Information Assurance System Architecture and Engineering (IASAE) II preferred.

Summary of Responsibilities and Requirements
Technical Focus Areas:
F5 Technologies Expertise: Proficiency in configuring and tuning AWAF security policies, creating APM authentication flows with Active Directory, and managing LTM virtual servers with break & inspect capabilities.
Cloud Experience: Strong working knowledge of AWS (especially VPCs, Security Groups, Load Balancers, CloudTrail) and growing exposure to Azure (30+ USMC applications onboarded).
Networking & Security: Proficient in DNS, SSL certificate management, packet analysis with tcpdump/Wireshark, and ideally BGP.
Environment Types: Experience working both remotely (EEVE lab) and on-site preferred due to system access challenges.
Typical Workflow:
1. Collaborate with mission owners to onboard applications to the cloud.
2. Define FQDNs/IPs, configure SSL certs, and build F5 LTM, APM, and AWAF settings.
3. Ensure proper logging and DNS setup.
4. Handle AWS load balancer setup and basic security checks.
5. Provide ongoing support, documentation, and outage troubleshooting.
Soft Skills & Team Integration:
Detail-oriented documentation writing.
Time management and comfort with frequent Teams meetings.
Ability to explain complex technical topics to non-experts.
Agile team participation and strong collaboration ethic.
Patience and a helpful, team-first attitude.
