Position: CDN Engineer (Akamai SME)

Location: Open to remote, he is open to this person nearshore/offshore/or hybrid in Fort Lauderdale, FL please send a variety of locations

Job Profile

Senior Akamai Subject Matter Expert with deep experience in CDN technologies and edge computing.

Must be able to manipulate traffic, routing, logic, and rules at the edge before requests hit the origin.

Will work directly in production environments, improving and standardizing Akamai rules, policies, and governance.

Role will include:

o EdgeWorkers and serverless logic

o AI inference at the edge

o Traffic management, forwarding rules, phased releases

o WAF and Bot Manager strategies

This is not a traditional CDN admin role. They want someone who understands Akamai as a compute platform, not just caching.

Responsibilities They Highlighted

Build and optimize complex edge logic to reduce latency and personalize user experiences.

Design and refine traffic routing policies.

Support next-gen security approaches across a high-traffic global platform.

Partner with engineering to modernize their eCommerce stack.

Be hands-on in production, implementing improved standards and governance.
