Job Title: Solutions Architect
Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire.
Location: Hybrid/Chicago, IL
Position Overview:
- We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with deep expertise in the insurance domain, specifically in annuity products and operations, to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade technology solutions. This role requires a seasoned professional who can translate business requirements into scalable architecture while overseeing solution delivery across internal custom platforms and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) systems.
- You will play a pivotal role in shaping digital transformation initiatives, with particular focus on content management, integration architecture, and API strategy, ensuring end-to-end alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Architecture & Design
- Lead solution architecture for complex projects in the insurance annuity space, from inception through implementation.
- Design scalable and modular solutions leveraging both custom-built platforms and COTS platforms (e.g., Guidewire, Salesforce, Pega, etc.).
- Define integration strategies using RESTful APIs, messaging systems, and middleware tools.
- Develop blueprints, solution diagrams, data flow models, and technical documentation.
Content Management & Integration
- Provide expertise in Content Management Systems (CMS).
- Architect content ingestion, storage, publishing, and access workflows aligned with compliance and digital engagement strategies.
- Integrate CMS with external systems (e.g., policy admin platforms, CRM, reporting tools).
Leadership & Delivery
- Act as the technical lead and architecture owner for implementation teams, ensuring delivery meets architecture guidelines.
- Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Development teams to align business needs with technical solutions.
- Guide vendor selection, platform evaluation, and proof-of-concept efforts
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior business and IT stakeholders, translating technical solutions into business value.
- Conduct architecture reviews and present technical options and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience
- 10+ years of experience in IT with at least 5+ years in a solution architecture role.
- Strong knowledge of insurance/financial services, particularly annuities, retirement products, and regulatory requirements.
- Deep experience in REST API design and integration architectures.
- Proficiency with Content Management Systems and digital content delivery architectures.
- Experience working across custom platforms and COTS solutions; familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering end-to-end solution implementations.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
