Position Summary
TEKsystems is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join a mission-critical cloud transformation initiative for one of our top clients in the aerospace and defense industry. This role focuses on architecting and managing complex, large-scale network environments that support the Virtual Cloud Access Point (VCAP) for SAP RISE. The position offers long-term stability and the opportunity to work on cutting-edge infrastructure in a dynamic, enterprise-scale setting.

Position Summary
TEKsystems is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join a mission-critical cloud transformation initiative for one of our top clients in the aerospace and defense industry. This role focuses on architecting and managing complex, large-scale network environments that support the Virtual Cloud Access Point (VCAP) for SAP RISE. The position offers long-term stability and the opportunity to work on cutting-edge infrastructure in a dynamic, enterprise-scale setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available network solutions across AWS and Azure.
- Build and maintain production Network HUBs connecting multiple VPCs and VNets using AWS Direct Connect and Azure ExpressRoute.
- Configure and optimize multi-regional AWS Transit Gateway and Azure Route Server/vWAN environments.
- Troubleshoot and optimize hybrid networks leveraging BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, SD-WAN, and IPsec.
- Deploy technologies such as VRFs, VXLAN, MACsec, and VPLS in enterprise data centers.
- Manage cloud and on-prem DMZs, API gateways, and firewall architectures.
- Leverage observability and monitoring platforms (Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, Splunk, Wiz, etc.) to ensure performance and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network architecture with business and security objectives.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and enforce network governance standards.
Required Qualifications
- Experience
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering.
- Experience in multi-cloud environments (AWS and Azure).
- Proven expertise in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
- Experience with enterprise-grade firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
- Technical Expertise
- Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, MPLS, SD-WAN, IPsec, VLANs, VRFs, VXLAN, MACsec, and VPLS.
- Proficiency with AWS Transit Gateway, Azure vWAN, Direct Connect, and ExpressRoute.
- Familiarity with zero-trust principles and network segmentation.
- Network automation/scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible) is a plus.
- Tools & Platforms
- Experience with SolarWinds, NetBrain, Nagios, nGenius, Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, Splunk, Wiz.
- Familiarity with AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, and Flow Logs.
- Certifications
- Active CCNP required.
- CCIE or equivalent advanced certification strongly preferred.
- Cloud certifications are a plus.
- Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a technical field.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated industries.
- Familiarity with SDN, NFV, and hybrid cloud architectures.
