Job Description
One of our clients in the government domain is seeking a highly experienced WebSphere Administrator with deep expertise in WebSphere, RabbitMQ, MuleSoft, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform). This role involves leading the administration, integration, and optimization of complex application environments across on-prem and cloud infrastructures. You will provide technical leadership, support CI/CD pipelines, ensure system performance and security, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high- availability enterprise solutions.

Work 8-10 hours/day, Monday Friday (JFS core hours: 7 AM 6 PM EST)
On-call rotation participation required
Responsibilities:
- Perform WebSphere upgrades, patches, and security fixes
- Set up and administer RabbitMQ and MuleSoft platforms
- Manage OpenShift clusters, security, automation, and CI/CD pipelines
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions
- Collaborate with developers to design and maintain production environments
- Install, configure, and deploy WebSphere servers on AIX/Linux
- Work with web servers (Apache, IBM HTTP Server, IIS) and SSL security
- Provide guidance and technical consultation for IT teams
- Lead discussions on emerging technologies and enterprise implementation strategies
- Advise on API security and policy management
- Conduct technical audits, risk assessments, and root cause analysis
- Champion best practices, automation solutions, and quality standards
Required skills:
- Extensive experience with WebSphere, RabbitMQ, MuleSoft, Unix/Linux administration, and networking
- Strong understanding of network architecture for application integration
- Expertise in high-availability, vertical/horizontal scaling, and disaster recovery
- Proficiency in Single Sign-On (SSO), load balancing, firewall management, and IP subnet configuration
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace) and CI/CD pipelines (Ansible, Jenkins, Nexus, Maven, Bitbucket)
- Knowledge of storage subsystems and application security best practices
- Web services, data integration techniques, and API transformation (JSON/SOAP)
- Working knowledge of Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud
- Deploy and manage applications in on-prem and cloud environments
- Recommend infrastructure solutions with cloud vendors
- Experience with containers, microservices, and Kubernetes
- 8+ years in WebSphere administration
- 2+ years in cloud products administration (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
- 3+ years in RabbitMQ administration
- 2+ years in MuleSoft administration
- 2+ years in Red Hat OpenShift administration
- 3+ years managing application security products
- 3+ years working with government agencies
- 5+ years providing senior-level technical consulting to IT management
- 3+ years advising IT teams on emerging technologies
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent technical experience)
