Job Description:
SAP S/4HANA Master Data Consultant - Contract Role

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Master Data Consultant to support a major implementation project at BioMarin. This role will focus on ensuring the quality, consistency, and alignment of master data with the enterprise architecture and business requirements. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, particularly in the areas of supplier, material, and customer master data, and will be comfortable working closely with both technical and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively review master data provided by the business to identify issues related to technical limitations, data quality, and alignment with BioMarin's solution architecture.
  • Document findings, define technical rules based on business requirements, and report to the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) team and Technical Lead.
  • Provide expert consulting to the Technical Lead on resolving data issues and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with system implementation technical leads to clarify data usage, validate assumptions, and recommend corrections.
  • Respond to inquiries related to master data configuration, structure, and usage within the SAP S/4HANA environment.
  • Actively participate in data domain meetings, offering feedback, guidance to data providers, and input on key decisions.
  • Review all Master Data Design documents to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or risks.
  • Educate and train internal BioMarin teams (Data Stewards and Data Leads) on master data attributes and their relevance to the overall solution landscape.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA, particularly in master data domains (Supplier, Material, Customer).
  • Familiarity with PIR (Purchasing Info Records) and customer master data sets.
  • Experience with data configuration and implementation in at least one SAP workstream.
  • Working knowledge of Syniti or similar data migration tools is a plus.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical data rules and governance practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
