Python Developer with Azure Data Factory (ADF)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Python Developer with Azure Data Factory (ADF) expertise to support the Credit Risk Systems team. This role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and applications that drive regulatory reporting, risk analytics, and capital adequacy frameworks.
The ideal candidate will have strong Python and SQL development skills, hands-on experience with ADF/Databricks, and familiarity with risk data, regulatory compliance, and financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines in Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Databricks for risk and regulatory reporting
Develop robust and efficient Python applications for risk data processing and analytics
Optimize SQL queries and stored procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance
Integrate and enhance Credit Risk Systems for exposure management, PFE (Potential Future Exposure), and capital adequacy reporting
Build and maintain APIs and microservices using Python frameworks (Django, Flask, Pyramid, Tornado)
Develop and maintain unit tests and code analysis using Pytest, Pylint
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across risk data pipelines and applications
Support existing SSIS packages and participate in migration projects to Azure
Collaborate with Risk, Finance, and Technology teams to align solutions with Basel, CCAR, and other regulatory requirements
Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and design sessions to ensure quality delivery
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of full-time development experience in Python
5+ years of strong expertise in SQL development & performance tuning
Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Databricks
Solid background in data pipelines, ETL, and risk data integration
Proficiency in Python frameworks (Django, Flask, Pyramid, Tornado)
Experience with testing frameworks & tools (Pytest, Pylint)
Familiarity with SSIS and ETL best practices
Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills
Ability to work with business stakeholders in Credit Risk, Finance, and Risk IT
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with Credit Risk Systems, Basel III/IV, CCAR, or other regulatory frameworks
Familiarity with Potential Future Exposure (PFE), Stress Testing, and Risk Analytics
Knowledge of Azure Synapse, Logic Apps, or Azure Functions
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, Git/GitHub, and DevOps practices
Prior experience in banking or capital markets domain
Education
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or Finance (or related field)
