Cybersecurity Cloud Subject Matter Expert

Location: 100% Remote

Must possess IT-II Sensitive security clearance or Tier 3 (T3) at time of proposal submission

This role represents an ideal fusion of cloud security architecture and DoD cybersecurity expertise, where one would safeguard cloud-hosted systems like the Electronic Contract Writing Module across AWS, and Azure environments while ensuring compliance with Department of Defense standards. In this capacity, one could leverage comprehensive knowledge of cloud security engineering, Infrastructure as Code protection, and container security alongside mastery of DoD Risk Management Framework processes and NIST standards. The position would benefit from advanced vulnerability assessment capabilities and security testing methodologies, enabling systematic threat identification and mitigation through sophisticated tools and cloud security posture management platforms. Through exceptional communication skills, this individual could mentor assessment teams and development groups while effectively presenting complex security concepts to audiences ranging from technical specialists to senior leadership. Strong policy development expertise would drive continuous improvement of cloud security standards, balancing rigorous requirements with operational efficiency and mission effectiveness. Deep understanding of enterprise DoD IT architecture, DISA requirements, and compartmented systems would facilitate seamless integration of cloud applications with existing infrastructure while maintaining appropriate classification levels. The role would excel in implementing security automation and DevSecOps practices, leveraging cloud-native services for incident response and threat hunting, ultimately delivering comprehensive security solutions that protect sensitive contracting data while enabling innovative cloud adoption strategies that advance DoD's technological capabilities.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Five (5) years of experience achieving ATOs in a DoD cloud environment (AWS, Azure, OCI, etc.)
  2. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and security integration practices
  3. Cloud certification (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  4. Cyber Security certification (CISSP, CISM, GSLC, etc.)
  5. Experience working with enterprise DoD IT.
