Network Engineer, Mid
The Opportunity:

A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable clients to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their current and evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That's why we need you, a network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network the DoD needs.

As a network engineer on our team, you'll use your skills in network design and architecture, system interoperability, OSI model, and network transport layers to help support the nation's defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You'll upgrade, develop enterprise-wide infrastructure, and troubleshoot complex issues while also increasing security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems.

Your knowledge of network protocols will come in handy as you help optimize client operations and modernization. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you'll make an impact on national security missions.

Join us. The world can't wait.

You Have:
  • 4+ years of experience working in a professional environment
  • Experience with Wireshark, NetScout, Riverbed, or tcpdump, including analyzing network packet data to optimize transport performance as part of advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution in a complex network with the Government or contracting leads
  • Experience managing complex scheduling to conduct performance tuning with internal and external teams to meet mission priorities
  • Experience utilizing Government-provided Information Technology (IT) tools to generate various Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) layers metrics and analysis and provide reports to identify network problems
  • Experience in a leadership role for the integration of network requirements, design, and technology, including performing integration of new technologies into local and wide area networks
  • Experience supporting the transition and migration of networks and development of network addressing schemes
  • Knowledge of network hardware, including routers, switches, hubs, gateways, access points, network interface cards, networking cables, network bridges, modems, Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) adapters, and firewalls
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to obtain DoD 8570 Compliance or Information Assurance certification within 6 months of start date

Nice If You Have:
  • Ability to communicate to partners, stakeholders, and customers, including the critical preparations for a Network Tuning Event and to identify the objective of the activity and required planning from the internal and external teams involved
  • Ability to embrace and participate in a culture of inquisitive knowledge to research the latest network tools and analytical capabilities to advance the ability to identify network performance issues from the server or client perspective and provide solutions to enable satisfactory user experience
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
