Senior LTE Core Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is looking for a highly experienced Senior LTE Core Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of LTE core network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in MME, STW, PGW, and HSS, with hands-on experience in Ericsson or Nokia platforms. This role requires onsite presence in either Kansas City, MO or Topeka, KS every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Key Responsibilities:
* Architect and implement LTE core network elements including MME, STW, PGW, and HSS
* Lead integration, testing, and deployment of LTE core solutions, ensuring high availability and performance
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across the LTE core, providing Tier 3 support
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (RAN, transport, security) to ensure seamless service delivery
* Conduct performance analysis and implement optimizations to improve network KPIs
* Maintain detailed documentation of network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures
* Support software upgrades, patching, and feature rollouts in coordination with vendors and internal teams
* Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on LTE core initiatives

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field
* 7+ years of experience in LTE core network engineering
* Hands-on experience with MME, STW, PGW, and HSS on Ericsson or Nokia platforms
* Strong understanding of 3GPP standards and LTE protocols (S1, S5/S8, GTP, Diameter)
* Proficiency in IP networking and troubleshooting tools
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
* Willingness and ability to work onsite in Kansas City, MO or Topeka, KS every Monday through Wednesday

Preferred Qualifications:
* Industry certifications (e.g., Ericsson Certified, Nokia NRS, CCNP, JNCIP)
* Experience with VoLTE, IMS, and 5G core technologies
* Familiarity with virtualization and cloud-native core solutions (e.g., vEPC, CNF)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
