Job Title: Commercial HVAC Service Technician
Location: Houston, TX
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our team in Houston, TX. In this role, you ll be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of commercial HVAC systems across office buildings, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, industrial sites, and more throughout the Greater Houston area.

Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units (RTUs), chillers, boilers, air handlers, VAV systems, and heat pumps.
- Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance, system inspections, and seasonal equipment start-ups.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and control-related system issues quickly and professionally.
- Replace or repair components such as compressors, motors, fans, belts, valves, and sensors.
- Accurately document service activities, findings, and recommendations in field reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and clients to ensure timely service and updates.
- Maintain clean and organized tools, equipment, and service vehicle inventory.
- Stay current with HVAC industry best practices, safety protocols, and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial HVAC service or maintenance experience.
- EPA Universal Certification required; Texas HVAC license or technician registration preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC system operation, refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and DDC/BAS controls.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Skilled in using meters, gauges, diagnostic software, and mobile tools (laptops/tablets).
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Valid driver s license with a clean driving record and ability to travel locally in the Houston metro area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with BAS platforms (e.g., Tridium Niagara, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens).
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
- Familiarity with chilled water systems, hydronic heating, and large-scale mechanical equipment.
