Job Details
Piper Companies is seeking a Remote Site Reliability Engineer to join a leading cybersecurity and cloud consulting firm. The Site Reliability Engineer will play a key role in building and maintaining secure, scalable infrastructure while supporting automation, compliance, and operational excellence across client environments.

Responsibilities of the Site Reliability Engineer include:
- Develop and deploy automation scripts, tooling, and infrastructure to meet client needs
- Manage patching processes to ensure timely updates, system stability, and security compliance
- Oversee Identity and Access Management (IAM), enforcing best practices for access control and data protection
- Perform cloud and system administration tasks, including provisioning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to resolve complex technical issues and maintain client satisfaction
Qualifications for the Site Reliability Engineer:
- 3+ years of experience in systems engineering and architecture, including integration and testing
- Experience in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform), including design, deployment, and operations
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible
- Proven ability to meet SLAs through effective issue identification, escalation, and resolution
- Experience supporting compliance initiatives such as FedRAMP through automation and monitoring
- Security-first mindset with the ability to balance compliance and operational goals
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience with cloud networking and next-gen firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASAv)
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, SOC, ISO, HIPAA, HITRUST, PCI
Compensation for the Site Reliability Engineer:
- Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
