Title: Software Project Manager
Location: Houston, TX & Chicago, IL
Description:
Houston preferred, but Chicago could work. Needs to work onsite at least 2 days/week.
Summary
Project Manager with Business Analysis background is responsible for bridging the gap between business objectives and technical solutions, ensuring that all initiatives are aligned with strategic goals and executed efficiently. This role combines analytical insight, project oversight, and operational accountability, supporting teams in the delivery of high-quality products and enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements for new initiatives and system enhancements.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation including business requirements, process flows, and user stories.
- Monitor and manage work items in Azure DevOps (ADO), ensuring tasks are appropriately prioritized, assigned, and completed on schedule.
- Oversee ADO dashboards to track developer throughput, sprint progress, and release readiness metrics.
- Support and participate in Release deployments, ensuring coordination between development, testing, and production support teams.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage timelines, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Track and manage project funding, including budget forecasting, spend tracking, and variance analysis.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, and stakeholder presentations on project milestones and performance indicators.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring alignment with business priorities and quality standards.
- Facilitate backlog refinement sessions, sprint planning, and retrospectives in collaboration with the Scrum Master and product team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Project Manager, or hybrid role in an Agile environment.
- Strong proficiency in Azure DevOps (ADO) for work item management, dashboards, and reporting.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing budgets and tracking funding allocations for multiple projects.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Familiarity with SDLC, Agile methodologies, and release management processes.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, STEM, or related field.
- 5+ years of combined experience in business analysis and project management.
- Experience working in enterprise-level Agile environments preferred.
